commune ism, OR Communism

Let us call this the dam stop. Some people think China and US are very different. Communist against Capitalist. But I think they are not so different. Like dams. They're very big, and it takes many people to make them. It takes many people agreeing to make them. It is a communal effort. You call it a civil effort, or civic effort. Which it the same thing as communal effort. - China never had true communism that Aura wants. Even when it called itself Communist, China was a mix of private ownership of homes, vehicles, and so on, but public ownership of enterprises; different from America mainly because of a greater degree of direction from the top, despite a kind of parliament. Fewer cooks in the kitchen makes it easier to get things done. This is good when the ideas are good. Bad when the ideas are bad. The peasantry starved during rural collectives. Bad idea.

Allowing more private ownership starting around 1980 started more competition that eliminated scarcity but also made massive enterprises making their heads rich. China has more billionaires than the U.S. now. But when an enterprise is almost a monopoly, maybe the only way to justify it is to make the whole society the owner, and then maybe you have commune ism. Maybe you tax the big enterprise and distribute the wealth. but still let the entrepreneur practice their hobby that made them so rich. I think China and the US are going to the same thing.
