During the search for wreckage of the U.S. space shuttle Challenger in 1986, Jim Mizell of Kennedy Space Center called the area offshore “the missile graveyard of the world” because it contains the wreckage of scores of failed rockets and the first stages of many more. During the search some of the fish sought to report missing relatives, scouts honor, but in the chaos of the moment weren’t able to get a proper hearing.
